Your first visit

We want to fully understand your history and health concerns; everything is important! 

Before your first visit, we ask that you fill out our health history paperwork, and indicate your health goals. After scheduling your first appointment, you will receive an email with your intake paperwork. Completing this process prior to your first appointment will save 10-20 minutes.

Upon arriving at Luminary, you’re given a tour of the office so that you feel comfortable with the lay of the land. During this, you will meet the whole team! Please don’t hesitate to ask questions throughout your tour. 

We will take a thorough health history during the consultation and dig deep into what the root cause of your health concerns. Through discovering your health concerns, we will develop health goals for you going forward.

After we talk about your health, we will conduct a full neurological exam to analyze your nervous system. The purpose is to understand how your system is functioning, and how your body is adapting (or not adapting) to stress.

These analysis tools give us the best look at the root cause of dysfunction in your body, so that your care will be specific to the stress your nervous system deals with everyday. Throughout these exams, we will take that opportunity to educate you on how your body functions, heals, and thrives.

If clinically indicated from your consultation and neurological examinations, the final step in your initial visit will be digital x-rays. The x-ray unit is located in our office, and takes less than 10 minutes to complete.

In regards to your spine and your health…to see is to know, to not see is to guess. At Luminary Chiropractic we will never guess with your health.

Postural x-rays are very safe, and allow Dr. Jake and Dr. Taylor to have an exact understanding of your spine. Your spine's integrity tells us a lot about problem areas, and how your nervous system is functioning. We will physically assess your spine for loss of curvature, degeneration, and disc space. We will also use these to monitor your progress

After your initial visit to Luminary, Dr. Taylor and Dr. Jake will develop your specific care plan. Your second visit, for your Doctor’s Report of Findings will be your most important and in depth visit. Dr. Jake or Dr. Taylor will speak in depth with you about chiropractic, goals, expectations, and your healing power from the inside out.

Together, we will review your neurological assessments, x-rays, and your health history. Then, we will discuss your specific, individualized instructions for care, and our mutual goals for your healing.

After your report of findings, during your second visit to Luminary Chiropractic, when you decide to move forward with our recommendations, you will head into one of our adjusting rooms for your first adjustment!

Adjustments at Luminary are gentle and specific. What does gentle and specific mean? Gentle enough for children and people with conditions that require a gentle touch, and specific enough to target any health condition. Our technique is for every part of your family, including babies and seniors!
